Gluten and dairy-free quick breads are an easy and satisfying baked good. Also, pumpkin zucchini bread!

  • Lucy Jones, Production Associate

Lucy works in the flour milling and packing operation to craft high quality products. Originally from Wisconsin, Lucy’s love for hands-on learning and exploring took her all the way to Prince William Sound, Alaska, where she worked as a fish culturist raising salmon at a remote fish hatchery. From there, she made the move to New York, where she worked as a greenhouse manager in vegetable production and hydroponics, eventually finding her way to Milestone Mill.

She recently moved across the country from Seattle to Beacon, NY with her boyfriend and cat and has been enjoying hiking, playing music, and working on her focaccia baking skills.

    Favorite baked good?

Homemade strawberry shortcake. It's so much better when the biscuits are fresh out of the oven, and everything melts on top.

  • Jay Krauer, Miller

Jay runs the day-to-day operations of the mill to craft high quality flour and other products. Outside of work, you’ll find Jay rock climbing or mountain biking with his son and the not-for-profit mountain bike group, Fats in the Cats. At home, he likes to tap maple syrup in the early spring, tend to his garden, and watch over his flock of about 40 chickens.

    Sourdough bread

  • Jeff Scott, Distribution Manager

Jeff wears many hats at Milestone Mill, managing inventory, coordinating deliveries, and making strong coffee for everyone in the office. He and his spouse met as students at the Culinary Institute of America so, when he’s not busy building blanket forts with their two daughters or tending to their chickens, he loves to cook foods from all over the world.

    Favorite baked good?

The best pastry in the world is hands-down the Kouign-Amann

  • Luz Markham, Business Manager

Luz handles contracts and finances for Milestone Mill, but plants are her true passion. She could spend hours in the greenhouse–or out hiking and seeing plants in their natural environment. She also loves cooking, especially with her husband.
